In 2021, Kat released her debut single, "Cliche Country Song." It wasn't long before her next single, 'leave me wild" landed on popular Spotify playlists, such as New Music Friday Country and Fresh Finds Country. She followed with standouts such as, "Call Me," whose music video premiered on CMT, and fan favorite "Name on My Phone" and "Paper Boy." Each release has shown new shades of Kat Velasco's artistry; playful yet grounded, pop-forward yet emotionally rich. She has opened for artists such as BRELAND and Tiera Kennedy.

In late 2025, "Show Pony" marked a turning point in Velasco's career, taking control of her narrative and redefining how country-pop can look and sound. In a genre that often prizes polish, she leans into imperfection, with music rooted in raw honesty and authenticity.

Most recently, "I Should Quit Drinking", a heartbreak driven track and Velasco's most emotionally exposed to date. Written with and produced by Johnny Gates, who also appears in the song. Velasco's smoky toned storytelling blends country, pop, rock & draws comparison to Stevie Nicks and Maren Morris. Taken from upcoming debut album, "Cowgirl Complex", coming in 2026.
